That's exactly correct.

I would further suggest that if the STARS air ambulance is truly no different than the AW139 as sold, except with decals and paint, then use some form of extended appearance to represent that. Do not use a new entry. However, if additional capability was added to the AW139 to make it a STARS, then perhaps new entry under the new country code would work, though I would use the variant mechanism in place, which would someone duplicate the below, but then under 1.2.39.91.12.1 (which points to 1.2.106.91.12.1) you would have 1.2.39.91.12.1.1 for the STARS.

I agree with Lance that the SISO-REF-010 is not an order of battle roster. There are occassions where we do have 'in country' variants of an original product. This occurs when a country performs changes to the OEM product, that results in a difference between the OEM and the country variant. (eg say a country purchases a camry - then replaces the engine with a V8, and modifies it to use a 4wd system.... this would totally change the performance/handling/appearance of the modified camry... which would allow for an entry under that country, with the variant flag set to the OEM camry).

For the AW139 entry (as there currently is not one) - I would recommend the following be submitted as a new CR.

1.2.106.91 Civilian Helicopter, Medium (up to 20,000 lbs / 9,072 kg)
1.2.106.91.12 Single Rotor, Turboshaft Engine, Conventional Tail Rotor
1.2.106.91.12.1 AgustaWestland AW139

You could then utilise the above entry for your STARS Air Ambulance, as this is just a AW139 with an Air Ambulance fitout (ie the airframe is the same as any other AW139)

The STARS Air Ambulance entry you submitted could then be rejected.

Lance please feel free to correct me if I got the explaination wrong?

David Ronnfeldt
