Works for me. I recommend approving 4159a.

When I draft up the other 3 hundred or so, I'll keep this plan in mind. :-)

And here is the text....

Lance,

Found some issues with this one.

When you update the information, it removes the (deprecated) wording (as this was done prior to the toolset).

This then looks like a new entry.

I have updated the CR, to see if this works better.

Rev A - Added in an additional line for each entry which deprecates the entry. Also added the base id of the appropriate entry. Also added the M730A1 as a new entry, as this actually does exist.

Regards,

David Ronnfeldt

Subject: EXTERNAL: CR to Update Old Deprecated Items

These items have been deprecated, but are blank with no knowledge of what they were. Instead of deleting them, I have found the old enumerations documents so we can document what they were. In the very slim case anyone used them, they will know to switch to new enumerations.

In that respect, I started a first CR for a few items. What I’m trying to do here is simply update the text. The items need to stay deprecated. The only other option is to simply delete the entries entirely, at which point they could be reused (may not be a good idea). The purpose of doing only a few the first time is to see if the process will work okay. Note that we can then also update them to point them (via the base ID attribute) to the correct enumerations (if any).

PS. I am working on a plan to scan in and upload all the old enumerations documents.
