The advance registration deadline for the 2001 European SIW -- being held at the University of Westminster (Harrow Campus), on 25-27 June -- is June 1. However, if you want to reserve a University dormitory room, you need to act quickly! We still have a few rooms available in the block we have reserved. These rooms offer en-suite toilets and showers and 10BaseT internet access for only $50/night -- a tremendous bargain for a location only ten minutes from London by tube! For registration and other information, see http://www.sisostds.org/siw/01Euro/index.htm Below are some deadline reminders and announcements regarding other conferences and workshops of interest to the SISO community: TENTH CONFERENCE ON COMPUTER GENERATED FORCES AND BEHAVIORAL REPRESENTATION (CGF-BR) Norfolk Waterside Marriott Norfolk, VA 15-17 May 2001 The early registration deadline is 16 April 2001. The annual CGF&BR event provides a forum to address human behavior modeling across the spectrum of simulation application areas extending from training and mission rehearsal to analysis, acquisition, planning, and experimentation for both military and non-military environments. The conference enables modeling and simulation application users and technical communities to meet, to share ideas and experiences, and to identify gaps in current capabilities as well as highlight promising technologies. For more information and on-line registration, see http://www.sisostds.org/cgf-br/10th/index.htm 6th INTERNATIONAL COMMAND AND CONTROL RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY SYMPOSIUM (ICCRTS) Annapolis, MD 19-21 June 2001 SISO`s C4ISR Track is responsible for one day of the ICCRTS M&S Track (Gary Waag is the Track Chair) as well as for the plenary meeting on the third day, both focusing on C4I-to-Simulation Interoperability. For more information and on-line registration, see http://www.dodccrp.org/6thICCRTS/Announcement.htm 2001 PARALLEL AND DISCRETE SIMULATION WORKSHOP (PADS) UCLA Conference Center Lake Arrowhead, CA 16-18 May 2001 PADS provides a forum for recent work that enhances the understanding of parallel and distributed simulation techniques (including optimistic, conservative, real-time and interactive synchronization, synthetic environments, virtual reality, DIS and HLA, and web-based simulation) and their use in real-world situations. Lake Arrowhead is two hours from Los Angeles, and the Ontario International Airport is one hour away. More information about the venue can be found at http://www.uclaconferencecenter.com/. For additional information about the conference, directions, and registration, see http://www.ececs.uc.edu/~paw/pads2001/ 2001 SUMMER COMPUTER SIMULATION CONFERENCE (SCSC) Orlando Airport Marriott 15-19 July 2001 SCSC 2001 manifests the commitment of the Society for Modeling and Simulation (SCS) to the successful growth of the entire simulation community. SCSC 2001 will particularly address topics which define the necessary and sufficient conditions for the recognition of the practice of simulation as a specialized discipline; the coherent and systematic application of simulation to a wide variety of problem domains; and the business and professional practice of modeling and simulation. Additional information is available at http://www.scs.org/confernc/scsc01/scsc2001cfp.html Check the SISO Calendar and the SISO Announcements for other related M&S events.
