Greetings Study Group Members, by now you all should have received the
Homework Assignment 2 email in which I asked you review and annotate a
selection of the papers that are currently listed in the Simulation
Conceptual Modeling Bibliography.

I am sending this email to the entire study group to ask that those who
might possess one or more of the books listed below prepare an annotation
for them, in additon to the already assigned homework. This seemed to be
the most reasonable way to obtain annotations for these books as I believe
most of you don`t cruise up and down the aisles of book stores looking for
latest conceptual modeling book(s). Of course, you might consider doing
that as an alternative to waiting in a long queue to buy a ticket for Star
Wars Episode III.

Averril.M. Law and W.D. Kelton Simulation Modeling & Analysis, 3rd ed.
McGraw-Hill, New York, 2000
Bernard P. Zeigler Theory of Modeling and Simulation Wiley, New
York, New York 1976
Grady Booch Object Solutions: Managing the Object-Oriented Project,
Addison-Wesley, Menlo Park, California, 1996
J. Banks, J.S. Carson, and B.L. Nelson Discrete Event Simulation,
2nd ed., Prentice Hall, New Jersey, 1996.
L.E. Widman, K.A. Loparo, and N.R. Nelson (eds.) Artificial
Intelligence Simulation & Modeling, John Wiley & sons, New York, 1989

Robert Shannon Systems Simulation : The art and science,
Prentice-Hall, New Jersey, 1975
Alistair Cockburn Writing Effective Use Cases Addison-Wesley Pub
Co; 1st edition (January 15, 2000)
Martin Fowler Analysis Patterns : Reusable Object Models
Addison-Wesley Pub Co; 1st edition (October 9, 1996)
Alan Shalloway, James R. Trott, and James Trott Design Patterns
Explained: A New Perspective on Object-Oriented Design Addison-Wesley Pub
Co; 1st edition (July 9, 2001)

If you decide to write an annotation for one of these books, would you
please let me know?

Thanks, and have a happy, relaxing weekend. Jake
