Katherine, et al

I am not sure one could get all the various paths on one chart. Therefore,
here are three charts that address SISO, IEEE, ISO. These could be put
together into one slide with builds.

Concepts that are discussed by the briefer:

Sponsoring Organizations could be forums or external organizations

A concept may be mature enough to go directly to PN

A concept may need a SG to evaluate, define, develop support prior to PN

A concept may need a SSG to mature the concept prior to PN

Graphics on IEEE imply dual role/process

After attending the EDCS meeting at Spring SIW and talking to Mike Leite, it
is clear that the whole ISO interaction is a different can of worms. In
that case, it appears that all we provide is technical expertise to the
Technical Committee that develops the standard and runs the voting.
Therefore, the concept of a PN and PDG do not really fit - might be more
appropriate as a SSG. Still not sure the PSG concept fits, but we'll use
the new one to see how things work.

* This has probably been in multiple previous versions, but I just
noticed that slide 5 says "4 venues held each year," which is a strange use
of venue. Events?

* There are some funny font size (and bold) changes on slide 19.

* I've enclosed and extremely lame first draft of my concept of the
process slide we discussed in the SAC several iterations ago. In addition
to demonstrating that I can't draw to save my life, it doesn't go as far as
balloting or maintenance of a standard. I'm lobbing it out at this point
because the couple of times I've given earlier versions of this briefing, I
had to put a lot in the voice track to explain how all the pieces of our
mission worked together to achieve our vision, and I think this is one of
the strengths of our mission. I would insert this slide toward the end of
the briefing, perhaps just prior to the summary, because this is the point
at which the audience understands our organization enough to appreciate how
all the pieces fit together.

Please find attached, for your information, the SISO Overview (Version 0.9).

This version is another step closer to an EXCOM approved SISO briefing.

Still some work to do, this is not finished and I would appreciate your
comments by COP Tuesday 18th April 2006.

Regards, Chris.
