A more
thorough comparison of the RPR2(v19.9)
enumerations against SISO-REF-010(IST-CF-02
2002).
Significant differences
================
CamouflageEnum32
This enumeration map loosely to the SISO-REF-010 Camouflage and
Paint Scheme bits of Platform and Life Form Appearance
bitfield.

SpreadSpectrumEnum16
This enumeration does NOT map onto the SISO-REF-010 Spread Spectrum boolean array. DIS provides individual boolean fields for Frequency
Hopping, Pseduo-noise, and Time Hopping, whereas RPR2 enumerates the name of the
waveform.

Both
CamouflageEnum32 and
SpreadSpectrumEnum16 should be added to
SISO-REF-010 as RPR enumerations. The new SISO-REF-010
document structure is going to break out "standard agnostic
enumerations" from those specific to DIS and RPR.
Design differences
=============
MinefieldSensorTypeEnum32
RPR2 combines the
SISO-REF-010 Minefield Sensor Type
'Category' and 'Subcategory' enumerations into one
enumeration.
PropulsionPlantEnum8
RPR2 combines the
SISO-REF-010 Propulsion Plant 'Configuration' and 'Hull mounted marker'
bit-fields into one enumeration.
As it
has been mentioned before, these cannot be changed without breaking buffer
compatibility.
Minor
differences
============
AcknowledgementProtocolEnum8
RPR2 adds 3='Standard'.
This does not exist in SISO-REF-010, and cannot
be found in the GRIM.
ArticulatedPartsTypeEnum32
RPR2 adds 0='Other'. This
does not exist in SISO-REF-010.
EnvironmentDataSampleTypeEnum16 and EnvironmentModelTypeEnum8
RPR2
adds 0='Unknown' for both. These do not
exist in SISO-REF-010.
MarkingEncodingEnum8
RPR2 describes 0='Other',
whereas SISO-REF-010 describes it as 'Unused'.
StationEnum32
RPR2 is missing values 1-511
'Sequential IDs for model-specific stations'.
RPR2 describes 906='Other
Attached Parts', whereas SISO-REF-010 describes the range 906-1023 as 'Other
Attached Parts'.
Since the OMT does not support range enumerations, its
questionable whether this is worth fixing.
