We use it , but we have an attribute “SonarSystem”  which is an RTIobjectId that we use to tie the ASB back to the AS. I somehow missed the fact that it was not in the RPR standard.

I have never used it, but I also would expect an attribute like ‘ActiveSonarSystemIdentifier’. That is the way objects are related in RPR.

ActiveSonar is added in RPR2. Version 2d2 only has the ScanPattern attribute and version 2d14 has the same attributes as 2d17. It seems the attribute just has never been added. Strange if no-one has this noticed this before.

All,

Does anyone know the proper way to associate an ActiveSonarBeam with an ActiveSonar object? The GRIM states:

"Following the model used for EmitterBeam, the active sonar beam characteristics are communicated separately using the ActiveSonarBeam object class."

However, the EmitterBeam includes the EmitterSystemIdentifier to associate the beam with its system. There is no similar attribute in ActiveSonarBeam. Is there some other means to associate these that escapes me? Does anyone currently use these objects, and, if so, how do you do this? At the very least this needs a much better explanation in the GRIM.

Regards,

Aaron
