Paul Maasel & SIW-RTI There are two briefings available on the DMSO WWW Home Page, specifically at which provide some background and specific data associated with RTI Performance. The paper topics are: "RTI Performance Framework" and "Application to RTI F.0". These presentations represent the first step in developing a common framework for characterizing RTI performance. Through the discussions at the AMG, SIW and other venues it is clear that there is a great deal of interest in RTI performance. It is also the case however, that there is a great deal of variability in what aspects of performance are of interest to different users and in the federation/implementation environments they are operating. The AMG has undertaken to develop a framework which will put RTI performance in terms of both the RTI services and of the federation/implementation context. This framework will allow for comparison of performance measures and common understanding of the external factors which affect RTI performance (e.g.. number of federates/objects/attributes/etc.) The first step has been to address realtime applications and performance of RTI support of update/reflect attributes and send/receive interactions transactions, with federations of increasing size. This is being done as part of our RTI development IPT. Some initial results are presented in the second AMG briefing.
